SO, what is going on with your adoption?

Lately we have been getting this question ALOT. We would love to have a great response to this question but there just isn't one. Our dossier (masses of paperwork) was mailed to China Monday February 16th and should be there by now. We are waiting for the CCAA (China Center of Adoption Affairs) to log in our dossier and give us our LID (Log in Date). This puts us in line with the other 32,000 dossiers in China. Yes I said 32,000. The wait time for a healthy child has increased to 3 years and may continue to increase.

What some of you may not know is that we are open to a daughter with some mild-moderate special needs. This puts us in a different line with hopefully a shorter wait. Most needs we feel we can handle as a family are mild correctable needs such as a cleft lip/palate, webbed or missing fingers/toes, mild heart conditions etc. The only moderate needs we listed were limb deformities and diabetes. It is very hard deciding which needs we feel our family is equipped to handle. We have been very prayerful and know that God will bless our family with our daughter no matter the needs she has. Bethany does the matching of Waiting Children and we are grateful for that. We have found them to desire the best for all of God's children and know they do the matching prayfully.

All we can do right now is pray and wait....
